I had the privilege of being a student of Melissa’s in Year 12, and she was an exceptional tutor! Melissa’s very punctual and responsible in being prepared for each lesson. Her explanations were always really clear, and she broke down complex concepts in a way that was easily comprehensible! She’s always so patient - if there was ever a concept I didn’t understand the first time she would try to find alternative ways to explain it to make sure I could understand it, which I think is a really important quality in an effective tutor. Melissa was very supportive even outside of lesson hours as she was really responsive to any messages with questions I had during the week, which I really appreciated and found very helpful. My overall maths rank improved from rank 40 at the start of Year 12 to a final rank of top 15 after tutoring with her. She helped me achieve a top 10 internal trial mark, which my Year 11 self would not think would be possible! After only tutoring with Melissa for 3 months prior to the HSC exam for English, I felt my confidence increase substantially and I’m sure that will be reflected in my HSC mark improving. Melissa is a really wonderful teacher and I could not recommend her as a tutor more!
